GABRIEL MURRAY
EXECUTIVE PRODUCER - DIRECTOR - SCREENWRITER
Gabriel Murray was born in Ireland. He has had a varied career originally studying painting, architecture and theatre design. He studied film Direction /Screenwriting at Dun Laoghire College of Art, as well as the history of film from Irish film historian, Kevin Rockett, at the National College of Art.
Murray has optioned various scripts over the years: The Boys are Back in Town - Phil Lynott Story - Mary Breen Farrley. Goddess - based on the book by Anthony Summers- developed by director Kieran O Conor.
Murray founded Visual Arts Centre was awarded the Young Ireland Iniative award by Arts Council/Irish Press and Dublin Corporation. Also committee member of the Young Irish Film Makers Workshop at the Project Art Center in the period that Jim Sheridan (My Left Foot) launched his theatrical and film career - a hive of Dublin's intellectual activity at that time. He began his literary career with the publication of his historical novel, The Golden Flame. His entry into the film industry was via co producing foreign language films distributed by Hollywood Classics notably The Last Tsar. Since then he has written the screenplay for the recently produced film for TV, Casanovas Love Letters. He directed his first short pilot, Whiskey in the Jar.
Now working as executive produce, director and screenwriter; he pursues a three tier level in the film industry.
