Casanova's Love Letters
The script was developed by Gabriel Murray (Olympia Films) in association with Marco Leefang, renowned as one of the world greatest researchers on Casanova.
The Budget financing was raised by Yvette Hoyle (executive producer, URMTV - www.urmtv.com), produced by Constantine de Naray (the executive producer of "The Young Alexander" for the Ilya Salkind Company), and directed by Mark Murphy.
Gabriel had come across the extraordinary story of the lost love letters on a visit to Castle Waldstein in Duchov, Bohemia, in the Czech Republic. The letters had been almost destroyed as they lay in boxes at the castle for hundreds of years, but were rescued by the English poet, Arthur Symonds, in 1913. This formed the basis of the most accurate account of Casanova's love life filmed to date. Starring Patrick Bergin and Armand Assante. |
